18th Century Chinese Export Punch Bowl

A large centrepiece Chinese Qianlong period export porcelain bowl, circa 1750-1760, painted in polychrome famille rose colors, the exterior with two large opposing panels framed in scrolling foliate forms in underglaze cobalt blue, each panel with a figural genre scene of upper class family life, set in a south China garden pavilion with flowering trees and waterside views, and children playing with pet birds while adult women and men look on, including a patriarchal figure with a red beard, which is quite unusual, with scattered flowers between the panels, the interior rim decorated with a rim band of foliate and floral brocade and centering a spray of camellia blossom.
